This is a game that I have seen on a few lists, and I have clicked onto the website but the front page is so unattractive that it has put me off. But I was so bored that I decided to actually jump into the world and check it out.
You can sign up with Facebook or Twitter, or for those of you who dislike getting your friends and family involved on your every move (like me!), you can create an account. When signing up, the only option of customisation that you have is display name.
Once in the game, the first thing I recommend doing is getting yourself an avatar since the default blob is boring. In this game you click a spot to teleport your avatar, or you can drag it around. You can use the Directory button to view all the areas, Home takes you to your world, Avatars is where you view the avatars that you've saved and change which you're using, Props are similar to Avatars except they are just objects that you can place in rooms and Gifts are props or avatars that you have receive from other members.
The whole time I was playing this game, I was thinking of how similar it is to Whyville - since you have a custom avatar and just teleport around through clicking. All of the areas seem to just be pictures that they've found off the internet in Worlize though, rather than drawing their own.
I did find an area that I do like, though - The Shop Around the Corner which is a bookstore from one of my favourite films, You've Got Mail

But unlike Whyville, you don't draw/buy pieces for you avatar and put them together, you just take an avatar from one of many menus in the game or take any picture or gif from the internet and use that. Yep, you can be anything. I definitely recommend uploading an avatar to use rather than using one of their ready-made avatars since a lot of them are rather questionable.
All 78 avatars from their 'Manga' gallery are horrifying, i'm sorry but.. help. Not what I was expecting at all from a MANGA gallery..

Your world is where you can customise your own rooms. The backgrounds can either be imported from the marketplace or you can upload your own. You can decorate your room with props, and set different rules. You can also set 'doors' which when your avatar goes onto them, it takes you to another room in your world I won't go into detail about everything because it's easy for you to find out for yourselves if you play.
As for the community....eh.. I was actually playing this game with my friend but he was targeted by the moderators 3 times which resulted in him getting Pinned (unable to move) and Gagged (unable to speak). After that, they Banished him from the room.
The moderators are very serious and people get pinned/gagged over nothing - somebody threw a rage in the room I was in so I said "Calm your tits". Someone got a mod to come to the room and told them I was using bad language - and even went through the effort of going all the way back through the chat log to screenshot what I said to show the moderator - which resulted in me receiving a 30 minute chat ban for inappropriate language and another user in the room told the moderator that I was sexually harassing someone because I was standing on them..what. I explained to the mod later on that I was just standing next to someone and I moved when they told me to - the moderator actually agreed in the fact that they had no idea why they accused me of that.
Speaking of which, if you stand on someone or too close to them, then they can report you for being in their personal space - which results in you reverted back to a blob and getting pinned to the corner of the room. Weirdly enough, if you move room then your ban is lifted so you can teleport around and talk to your hearts content. Until you get banned again for no reason, that is.
Honestly, that's all I have to say about this game - I wouldn't even really call it a game since there is nothing to do except for talking. Like my friend said, this game has the potential to be good, but due to immature users and bad moderators, it really isn't great. If you just want to chat to people who overreact and see a lot of stolen art then this is the place for you - otherwise I recommend literally any other game i've reviewed. Sorry Worlize, but it could have been a lot better.
