Another new came to try out! When you star off, you chose between male or female then customise your own 'yodimi'. There are quite a few customisation options which is nice, so I made the most of it like I did in SecretBuilders and made my yodimi look a little strange. Once you have signed up, you are taken into the game and told what the icons on your screen mean. After that, you are given a uniform to wear, shown your room and are told how to decorate it. You are then shown where to check your level, cobas (the ingame currency), popularity, health, points, and how to log out. After all that, you are taken to do an exam on what you have learnt. The tutorial for this game is very extensive and there isn't an option to skip - all these things are what are in every social world and considering the game isn't exactly super-popular, i'm sure this isn't the first social world that it's users have played. After the exam, you are shown how to use your Yodipad. The tutorial girl goes into detail about every button and i've given up with reading what she has to say because I just want to play the game. Luckily, that's the last of the tutorial - she gives you some missions then leaves. Time to play the actual game! I'm playing this game with my friend - who played Meez with me, and who has suggested a few games - and it's hard for us not to take this game as a joke. There is a map with a few areas, but there are more to choose from on a list. Click the floor to walk, but rather than walking, you zoom across the screen and "Gotta go fast" springs to mind. My name is PsychoMilk but to others it appears as 'NewYodimi_1432764305' which is pretty annoying. (Edit: After going back on Yodicity the next day, my name has been changed to PsychoMilk so I guess it just needs to be verified or something.) You can't actually talk in this game, but you can download apps on your Yodipad which include a social media app where you can update your status and a messaging app where you can send messages to your friends. Neither let you type on your own, you have to pick words and phrases from some lists. For a social world, there is barely any social aspect to the game. The more missions you do, the more you level up. I had a mission to buy some clothes and it genuinely took me over 10 minutes to find the clothes shop - turns out it's in a building called 'Citizen Touch'. Dodgy. I bought a fishnet top from there so that confirms how dodgy it sounds, oops. After another exam, you're finally able to do as you wish! You are given some money, lottery chips, and even more missions. I went and used my lottery chips right away and won a lamp and some matches. "Your prize has been added into your bag ;)" sounds a bit off, especially when he's talking about a box of matches. I'm not really understanding why this is an online game when you can't actually talk to people in-game. Plus, since there are 7 huge areas and lots of different buildings, it's hard to actually bump into anyone. I completely lost my friend after I left his apartment (that sounded dodgy, oops). I did actually bump into someone else, but there's really no point in standing near people on this game since you can't talk. Unlike every other game I have reviewed, i'm yet to come across any content that I can't access from being a regular member which is nice. Well, unless you need to be a member to have an actual username that is. You can use real money to buy packages which give more cobas, each package comes with a free gift and some other things - but you can get the first package for free. I've taken quite a lot of screenshots while being on this game so you'll have to check my screenshots page to see the rest since this post will be way too long if I include them all! Anyway, it's getting late so I will end my review here. I got quite a bit of entertainment out of this game, but it'd be a lot better if you could actually talk out loud to other users rather than communicating through lists of words over an in-game tablet. |
