Another 'world'! I wish people would choose another word for their games, it makes them all sound the same, haha. During the sign-up process, I have the choice between 4 male avatars and 4 female avatars - I think i'll go with the second female since she kinda resembles me (Not-quite-blond hair and green eyes, haha). "My parents and I have read the following documents and agree to them: Code of Conduct, PRIVACY POLICY, Terms of use." Yep, check. I'm almost 18 but safety first. (shrugs) You start the game with a short loading screen (which features a yeti juggling?) and then your character appears in a shop for the starting tutorial. In the tutorial you learn how to buy clothing items from the shop (each item is very customisable as you are given a pallet to chose the colour of each aspect of the item) and make your own room. After making your room, you are given some free gifts and you're finally allowed to name your character, but you're given the option to name yourself later if you wish. For some reason I keep getting a notice saying "This name is not acceptable." for everything I try. Weird. You click the world icon to view the areas and rooms available in the game. You click the floor to move around, and click your character to make them face in a different direction. You can change the zoom by dragging a bar at the side of the screen, and can move the map via click and drag. The first thing I saw when I entered a room was one girl shouting nonsence, and another girl chasing her shouting "-KILLS-" and occasionally spelling it wrong. Which like a few of the other games i've reviewed, shows that the playerbase is probably young. Anyways, I have to dash off so i'll end this review here. The game itself looks pretty cute and reminds me of a non-pixel version of HabboHotel in a way, but as usual, this place really isn't for me. Maybe i'll look at it again when I have more time. |

Male, Female, or Animal? That definitely caught my attention when I signed up, but I went ahead with female anyways.
This game is very unique in it's own right - even without the 'animal' option... Appearance wise, it looks a lot like The Sims - characters included. There's no character customization when you start the game, other than the gender choices, but you can change your appearance somehow (since the other players don't look like mine!) but i'm not quite sure how....yet. TirNua has a 'green' theme running through it, giving you facts about the environment and telling you methods in which you can be green - such as running on a treadmill to generate power! You have your own garden where you can grow vegetables, too. Honestly, I don't understand the world map. It has a lot of hexagons and tells you how much pollution is on that lot? Not sure what it's all about, really. This seems to be another game with a rather small player base, as I encountered a total of 3 other players during my time here. Those players did mention the name of another user, though, so maybe i'm just on at an inactive hour. Due to the fact that I don't understand the game, and that i'm not really savvy on saving the environment, I don't think that I will be returning here often. Maybe I will in the future and see if I understand it a bit better.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time you find an online game with 'world' or 'worlds' in the title.
Well, just kidding because I don't drink. (shrugs) SmallWorlds kind of reminds me of The Sims because of the way the rooms look. But the characters are very, very different. I personally don't like the way the characters look - they're kinda creepy. Then again, I made my character look creepy on purpose. Oops. You start off in your own home and get a few simple quests to place some objects, change your outfit, etc. I didn't pay much attention to the introductory quests since the game itself is easy to navigate. I decided not to venture outside of my house the first time I played, but i'm going to now - i'm playing as I write this. It's good to take a second look at things, anyway. Click to walk, drag to move the screen. I don't know what else to say about this game, it's your typical social world. I didn't see much else except for the walking and talking - so i'm going to end my adventure in SmallWorlds there. It'd be a nicer game if the characters weren't so creepy looking! At least the users are a little less offensive than the previous games i've reviewed.
When I was a child, WeeMees were avatars that you made of yourself to put on MSN. I didn't realise that they made a virtual world out of it, until recently, anyways. When you sign up, you get a huge selection of customization options which is always a plus for me since I don't like to look too normal on games. Like OurWorld, there was no tutorial for this game but it wasn't exactly needed since navigation is pretty simple. You have a list of areas to choose from and you move around using the arrow keys to go from left to right (it's more of an awkward sideways shuffle rather than a walk), use up to jump, and down to go down through platforms. Moving around areas is quite laggy. The playerbase is quite obviously young and immature, constantly shouting nonsense that isn't directed at anyone. When I was standing with a friend of mine in Paris and we were surrounded by a few players who were shouting insults at the air. Literally. There was a girl standing next to me repetitively saying "I WILL BET U BICH". Unfortunately for her I just found it amusing and the phrase is now one of many inside jokes. Your character gets their own room - up to 6, actually - which you can decorate freely as all the furniture is free. Objects in the game are pretty random, ranging from food to Justin Bieber. Yep, Justin Bieber. The way the users act on this game would make me embarrassed to admit to being a part of it so it's easy for me to say that I won't be coming on here often. Maybe I will when I need some entertainment.
