Another game that's aimed at girls - but on this one you have the option to be male! I first heard about this game a few years back - the same friend who told me about MyCandyLove told me about this one too. Difference is, when I first signed up to this, I did spend quite a bit of time on it! Since I start new for my reviews, I will make a new account to go through the start of your life on Stardoll, then i'll switch to my old account to go through different features.
When starting, you pick a ready made Stardoll - since I already have a female character, i'll be making a guy! Each different doll comes with a room and some furniture which you can see behind it. Please note: you can change your eyes, nose, mouth, body type, skin colour, hair and hair colour for free in-game so pick the doll which has the clothes and/or furniture that you like the most! - Okay, now when you pick your doll, you can randomise the hair, face and clothing that your doll is wearing. It is very limited, though. But like I said, you can change that when you're in-game.
Once you sign up, you are sent onto your profile - which is where you (and other users) can view your room. You can also write things about yourself, other users can make comments and there are many different pages to your profile - I won't get into them all in detail because it will take too long. You are given your furniture in a big box - you can drag those to where you want then click 'save changes; to save you room.
Beauty Parlor is where you change your appearance - however this doesn't include clothing. Your clothes, shoes, hats, etc. can be found in your wardrobe and shelves in your apartment's main room. Unfortunately, since the game is aimed at girls, the male options aren't so great, and most of the facial features are feminine - this is because males and females share the same options of facial features and hair.

I started writing this on the 1st of June, but i've been busy so I didn't get chance to finish it so i'll do it now - it's now the 5th.
I decided to log into my old account to see what was still the same. Like I said, I played this game years ago. Judging by the comments on my profile, I made this account over 4 and a half years ago. Since I used to be a 'superstar' (member) when I played this game, I wanted to check what of my member content was still in game.
When I used to play, you no longer had access to your member rooms once your membership had expired, but I can now enter them without it telling me I can't because i'm not a member. You can still decorate using your member furniture, you can still wear your member clothes and accessories, etc. But of course, to gain extra room, nice clothes and decent furniture, you have to be a member.
Something about this game that many people would dislike is that if you are inactive for too long then your account gets deleted. Yep. A close friend of mine was a platinum superstar or whatever it's called (the highest level of membership that you get from buying a year long membership) and she played everyday. Her life became busy so she couldn't play as often, and went a year or so without logging in because of this. She told me that when she tried to return to the game, her account had been deleted due to inactivity.
Most of the clothes have to be bought with member's currency - which you get from becoming a member, of course. The regular currency isn't used as much. Clothes that you can buy with it are much more basic and quite expensive.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention - there is a social aspect to the game. You can add people, visit their profile, leave comments, vote for their apartment, style, etc. in competitions. There are also parties where you can stand in a room and talk to other people. You can't really do anything in them other than move your character and chat.
Anyway. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes fashion, I guess. But I played it when I was 13-14, and it no longer appeals to me so it's more the type of game for young teens, I think. It'd the type of game you would get bored of quite quickly unless you're willing to pay for membership.
